What to put on a dog ID tag
Start with the number you would want someone to call if they found your dog. Then decide what belongs on each side. These examples fit the two engraving lines on each face of a Hellotag tag.
A name on the front, a number on the back
For a tag you can read at a glance, give each line one job. Milo’s owner uses only his name on the front. On the back, the first line invites a call and the second leaves room for the country code.

- MILO
- Back
- PLEASE CALL

If you prefer to leave their name off
Try “IF FOUND” on the front with “PLEASE CALL” beneath it. Put your number on the back. If two people share pickup duty, use one number on each back line and check that both fit the preview.
Check the engraving before you order
In the Hellotag studio, the main line on each face holds up to 16 characters and the second up to 22. Spaces count. Flip the preview, read the digits aloud and check the country code. Use a number you are comfortable having visible to anyone who turns the tag over.
